Homemade Cards-A Special Touch

A Homemade Card, like ones I make with my Cricut Machine, gives recipients a special feeling, they know I planned ahead for their special occasion and took the time and care to create a greeting card just for them. I have sent out many of the cards featured in this blog and I get wonderful thank you's back, expressing how nice it was to receive a beautiful and homemade card.

Hearts Valentine Card

A simple little card but the smiling hearts bring a message of love to your Valentine.  I created 3 cards at the same time for this project.  Use a 12"x12" piece of heavy weight cardstock such as Cardstock 12 Inch X12 Inch Bazzill 25PK-Emma or Bazzill Bling Cardstock 12 Inch X12 Inch -Red Carpetor you can choose other colors-Search Amazon.com for Bazill cardstock

I used the Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge for this card.

Fold each sheet to make 3 - 4" greeting card bodies.
Using the Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge, 1 Sheet of a solid colored paper and 1 Sheet of a coordinating patterened paper.
Cut 3 Hearts from the solid paper: "Shadow", Size 3", Blade Depth #2.  Then cut 3 Hearts from the same solid paper: "Shadow", Size 2", Blade Depth #2
To the card body, affix one big Heart and one small Heart cut from the solid colored paper.

Cut 3 Hearts from the patterned paper: "Layer 3", Size 3", Blade Depth #2.  Then cut 3 Hearts from the patterned paper: "Layer 3", Size 2", Blade Depth #2
There are other designs of hearts to use; such as one smiling with ~ for eyes; however they print two at a time, making planning difficult.

In the absence of having a "Happy Valentines Day" stamp, I chose to write the verse myself for this project.
I wrote the verse on each card.  Then affixed a small piece of self-adhesive ribbon, sold at craft stores.

For a bit of "bling" I added small self-stick gems.
